All dogs and cats adopted from Metro MUST BE STERILIZED.

• All dogs and cats adopted from Metro are required to be neutered (spayed or castrated).  A fully refundable cash deposit of $100 shall be due upon adoption.  Upon proof from the adopter that a licensed veterinarian has completed the procedure within the time designated in the adoption contract, the $100 deposit shall be returned to the customer within 10 days in the form of a check.
• If the adopter fails to provide proof of sterilization within the mutually agreed upon time frame, the bond will be forfeited and the animal may be impounded at the Shelter.

Important:  If your application is denied, you have the right to appeal, in writing, to the Metro Animal Services Manager within three (3) days of the date of denial.  Metro Animal Services is under no obligation to hold the animal you are interested in during the appeal process.

Important: If you are renting you must have your landlord sign the Landlord Approval Form prior to submitting your application. Once completed you may start your application and attach the approval form to the application.

• Applications will not be approved until applicant is in full compliance with applicable local and state laws, to include licensing of animals.
• All adoptions are on a first come, first served basis to pre-approved applicants only.  First person on premises with an approved application on file will have first choice of adopting an available animal.

Approval of this application in no way obligates Metro Animal Services to hold any animal for any reason.
